Connecting with Others

Hey New Lifers,

After Shami and I returned from our trip to Toronto, Canada celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, Shami came up with a wonderful idea:  Why don’t we host different families, individuals and couples at our home for a bonfire.  We have intentionally kept them small (no more than 4 families) because it is in a smaller group where you can hope to better connect with others.

And that’s the reason for the bonfire nights – connect with others.
We have a few more planned and we know we unfortunately won’t be able to have everyone over for a bonfire this summer, but you can still connect with others.

Why not invite others, some you know well and some you don’t, over to your home for a bonfire.  No firepit?  Then take advantage of whatever your home has to offer.
The point is to connect with others and connect with them in a way that is relaxing and comfortable.

The Free Movie Night at New Life, July 30th at 6 pm  is one more way you can connect with others.  There will be hotdogs, cotton candy, popcorn and water that is just $5 a family before and $7 a family at the door, but even if you don’t choose the food, choose the movie (Disney’s Zootopia) and choose to connect with others.

Another way to connect with others is through our “Recalibrate  Your Life” small groups.  Phil and Mary Prows hosted our first small group on Sunday night, while Mark & Rikki Bailey host tonight and Pastor Garth & Kari host Wednesday night or you are welcome to come to our small group on Thursdays but it doesn’t begin until August 4th.  One thing that I love about these small groups beyond the ability to connect with others is being able to connect with God.  So do all you can to be a part of connecting with others and connecting with God the rest of the summer.

Even if you can’t make it the first week, don’t give up connecting with others in a small group.  You can still attend starting week 2.

Have a great summer connecting with others...and with God!
Leading and serving you,

Pastor David
