50 years of life-change at New Life Community Church/Westside A/G - what's your story?

As part of our 50th Anniversary celebration, this coming October/November, we are planning to make a booklet entitled, “Where were you when…? – stories from 50 years of life-change at New Life Community Church”

We’re looking for stories of salvation, healing, baptism, humor and drama.
Stories of when a teacher impacted a student.
Stories of when a message changed a person’s direction in life.
Stories of what things were like after the dome collapsed, the mortgage was paid off, the various sanctuaries and buildings were built.
Stories from the bus ministry, the school…the list of ideas can keep going.

Please send us your story or stories, and pass this along to others that attended New Life Community Church or when it was called Westside Assembly of God.

Thank you for your help in making this a memorable year!

PS - you can send pictures too!!

Ready for Impact!

Last night, my two little ladies stayed the night at someone's house. The first thing that happened when I saw them was the best thing ever!

"DADDY!!!!!!"

Was the word they both screamed! First Bayley and then Savanah. Then they came bolting straight for me. I knew that I would have to get ready for impact. What a hit I took!! One of the best ever!

That imagery makes me think of God.

Do we make that kind of cry out to God? Do we just run to Him with everything we have? Do we make Him get ready for our impact?

I can see God right now. In position to take the best you can give Him! What are you waiting for?

Make God get ready for your impact!!!

The Book of Eli

OK...so I went and saw "The Book of Eli" yesterday night with a group of friends. It was full of depth and insight unlike any film I can recently remember. By no means is this a film for ALL to see. It is filled with language spoken from those who are the "evil ones" and the violence is indeed intense, but it is a film that can speak to many important pieces of our lives...

...using the power of the Bible for manipulation of people vs. seeing people's lives changed.
...knowing what is in the Bible vs. living out what you know is in the Bible.
...is the Bible on your shelf or in your heart?
...what are you willing to do to follow God's call in your life?

These are but a few thoughts and questions that "The Book of Eli" touches. Regardless, last but not least, one thing that Eli did that we all should do: is take time each day to read the Bible and see what it has to offer your life.

L-E-T-S-G-O

I watched my two girls begin their cheer leading seasons today. They both did a great job and I am very proud of their efforts and energy! I love how they encouraged the teams to do their best all throughout the games.

God watches us each day and in a very similar way, he "cheers" and encourages you and me to do our best. He also uses us to "cheer" each other on "towards love and good deeds."

Now I know God is so much more than a cheerleader, but to know that he is on my side each day, wanting me to be successful, that gives me an added boost to do my best!

So...L-E-T-S-G-O, Let's go and do our best today!!
